Omega

Welcome

Welcome to Omega. We are a Year 5/6 class of 5 boys,  most of whom will be completing SATs in May. Our class teacher is Miss Gee. We are very lucky to be supported in class every day by Mrs McDonald, she leads our interventions and helps us to become the best learners that we can be.

Homework

Each week, on a Thursday, we will bring home a reading and homework book. Please spend some time to help us with this, and make sure that homework is completed weekly and returned to school by the following Thursday. It is also very important that we read at home with our parents and carers 3 times a week to help us make as much progress as possible. Please make sure all of our reading is recorded in our reading records every time we read - our teachers love to hear how well we are doing at home!

Intervention

All pupils receive intervention which is based on an individualised learning plan to support them with their additional needs and to ensure they continue to make good progress. As a school we use Read Write Inc. to support early reading and writing. This is a multi-sensory approach that has proven very successful.

Trips

This term Omega will be visiting Lakeside Adventure center, this links in with our  topic 'Resilience'. During the trip pupils will take part in a raft building activity and then get the chance to row their raft on the lake. The activity is to build on pupils resilience and push them to keep going even if they find things difficult.

Phone calls home

Positive phone calls home will be made every fortnight on a Tuesday.
