The Pupil Premium funding allocation for the academic year 2012 - 2013 was £26,100.
This was spent in various areas of the school. This money will be spent in a variety of ways, curriculum based interventions, curriculum and reward visits, behaviour rewards, visitors into school, transport to improve attendance and residential trips/holidays.
The areas where we saw the greatest impact were Phonics training for staff and a KS3 pupil visit to London to experience different genre of theatre and familiarisation with our capital city.
The Phonics training developed the staffs skills and enabled more thorough and precise personalised learning which allowed the pupils to make greater progress within their reading levels.
The impact of the London visit was vast indeed. It gave the pupils a greater perspective of the layout of the country along with the ability to identify various landmarks within our capital. The trip featured a bus tour, a theatre visit to see a performance of the Lion King as well as a tour and performance of Romeo and Juliet (pupils had been studying the play in English lessons) at the Globe Theatre.
