On 11 November 2016 Hope School was assessed and awarded the Workplace Wellbeing Charter. This is a national award that gives employers the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to the health and wellbeing of their workforce.
The Charter takes a holistic approach that includes leadership, culture and communication, as well as health and wellbeing topics such as physical activity, alcohol and mental health. In all 8 areas were assessed.
To achieve the award evidence was examined and key members of staff were interviewed by two assessor who visited the school. The school site was also inspected.
When identifying the strengths and areas of good practice that had been observed the assessors said:
'All those interviewed expressed how much they appreciate their job and role. They all spoke highly of the school and how well supported they are; but more importantly, how valued they felt. this indicates that Hope School respect their employees and understands that the employees are the biggest asset of the organisation'.
