Please ensure that we have the most up to date information regarding emergency contacts and medical details for your child. A personal information form can be obtained from the school office. If there have been any changes to your circumstances please complete a personal information form and return it to school. These can be obtained from the school office or downloaded here.
We ask every parent/carer of a Hope School pupil to complete a medical questionnaire and a pupil information questionnaire that includes requests for emergency contact telephone numbers and information about medical conditions. It is vital we have this information as it helps us keep our pupils safe.
Punctuality and regular attendance are very important for the success of Hope School. We appreciate you support in ensuring your child attends school regularly.
If lateness or absence is unavoidable please follow the procedure detailed below:
If pupils are late please contact the school by telephone. If you are bringing a pupil into school personally please ensure that you use the main entrance and report to the school office. This ensures that the administration staff can record the pupil’s attendance and are aware that they are on the premises in case of fire etc
Absences due to illness MUST be telephoned to the school office as soon as possible although Hope School does operate a first day absence procedure and will contact parent/carers on the first day of a pupil’s absence if the school is unaware of the reason for the absence. Then on return to school it would be helpful if the reasons for absence were put into writing and returned to the class teacher – this includes hospital/dental appointments. If a pupil is absent please indicate the expected length of the absence.
The school undertakes to follow up any unexplained absence as quickly as possible and your cooperation is greatly appreciated. The school has a duty to report any concerns regarding attendance and punctuality to the PAEWS (Education Welfare Service).
Permission for holidays in term time will only be given in exceptional circumstances. If pupils are taken on holiday during term time without permission the school's EWO will be informed and this could result in a fixed penalty fine being issued.
All meals are freshly prepared on site and there is always a warm option, a cold option and soup available. Menus for school meals are published on the website. Alternatively you can prepare a packed lunch for your child, if you would prefer this option be aware that as a Healthy School we have strict guidance that must be followed. This information is available form the school office or can be downloaded here.
Please ensure all of your child’s clothing is clearly marked with his name. School uniforms can be purchased from the school. If you require uniform please contact the school office and the uniform will be issued on reciept of payment. You can access further information and a complete break down of the school uniform from our downloads page.
