This terms topic is Gratitude - We will be learning this term the quality of being thankful, readiness to show appreciation and to return kindness.
This half term will be the first time in a few months that all pupils are back in class and so our school day will be slightly different to help us all settle back in to school life. Our school day will start at 9am and finish at 2pm. During the day we will be doing lots of active learning, focusing mainly on our social, emotional and mental health. We will be doing lots of learning around keeping safe, keeping healthy and looking after each other.
Every Monday will be outdoor learning day, pupils can wear own clothes to ensure they are prepared for any weather. During this day we will spend most of the day learning outside and completing different activities.
Our learning for this half terms will be based around the effects COVID had on the whole world, we will be looking at Pandemics throughout History, discussing how we felt and creating fact files about how COVID effected people, we will be creating different Art and Music pieces to match different emotions people had at different times. We will also be taking parts in lots of team building games in P.E and learning how to be safe in the Kitchen in D.T.
Mr O'Neill and I can't wait to get to now our new class this half term and learn new things together.
Take a look at the creative homework activity sheet below to pick which activity you want to complete this week.
All pupils receive intervention which are based on an individualised learning plan to support them with their additional needs and to ensure they continue to make good progress. Pupils also complete sensory circuits throughout the day to help them self-regulate and be ready to learn as well as social and friendship interventions to support pupils in their communicating and social progress.
