Liverpool Health and Well Being Award

Hope School currently has the Bronze award and is working towards the Silver Award.  This means that we aim to improve health, raise pupil achievement, improve social inclusion and encourage closer working between health and education providers in the United Kingdom.

The criteria for the award is applied across the whole school. From partnerships with parents and carers, to providing all staff with appropriate training, from providing a positive culture and environment in school to planning learning activities, the Liverpool Healthy Schools Award is embedded across our school.

As part of the award we evaluate our Personal, Social, Health & Economic education, ensuring that lessons are taught regularly and are supplemented by curricular activities.

Healthy Schools is prominent in other areas of the curriculum; PE lessons are taught regularly as well as extra curricular sessions that are accessible to all of our pupils. Cookery is offered as an extra curricular session and equips pupils with essential skills while re-enforcing the message about healthy eating.

If you require any further information about how Hope School is a Healthy School, please call and ask for Mr. Darkins.
