Trauma Support

Here at Hope School, we have two trained professionals to deliver the Growing Stronger programme -Yvonne Seed (Family Support Worker) and Kate McGing (Assistant Headteacher).

Adverse Childhood Experiences are very stressful (traumatic) experiences that can happen in a child’s life and can put us in a state of fear and toxic stress.

These experiences or events are not our fault, and as children, we had no control over them happening. This programme is designed to help people of all ages to grow and recover from Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACES.

As a whole school staff team, we have completed this programme together to support us in  developing an understanding of ACEs, what they are and how they might impact us, and the people around us.

If you feel that you would like to learn more about ACES; what they are, how they can affect you in your adult life and strategies to support your own wellbeing then please contact y.seed@hope-school.co.uk for more information.

The first programme for parents and will be running over 4 weeks over the following dates:

  • 13th June
  • 20th June
  • 27th June
  • 4th July
